Dog Training Near Auburn, PA Built on Compassion, Curiosity, and Real Life

Helping dogs and their people move forward with support that looks at the whole picture.

Spicy Paws Dog Training is for dedicated dog owners who want to help their dogs without force, fear, or outdated methods.

If you want to understand your dog better and support them in a way that feels kind, realistic, and effective, you’re in the right place.

A Different Way of Looking at Behavior

At Spicy Paws, behavior is not treated as something to overpower.

It is something to understand.

When we look at the why behind a dog’s behavior—what they are feeling, what their environment is asking of them, and what support their human can realistically provide—we can create a plan that feels clearer and more compassionate.

Meet Ashlee

Ashlee Correll is the owner and trainer behind Spicy Paws Dog Training.

Her journey started with her own dogs and grew into a deep commitment to helping people understand the why behind their dog’s behavior. She knows how emotional it can feel when you love your dog, but daily life still feels stressful, confusing, or harder than you expected.

That experience shapes the way she works: with curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for both ends of the leash.

Ashlee looks at the dog, the environment, the household, and the human’s capacity before building a plan. Her goal is not to hand you a list of rules and leave you to figure it out. Her goal is to help you understand what is happening, what your dog needs, and what next steps actually make sense for your life.

Committed to Better Behavior Support

Behavior work requires more than basic obedience advice. Dogs who bark, lunge, growl, shut down, or struggle with everyday life need support from someone who can look beyond the surface and understand what may be driving the behavior.

Ashlee is a Pat Miller Certified Trainer and is committed to continued education in aggression, behavior, enrichment, and humane training. Her studies include Michael Shikashio’s Aggression in Dogs Master Course, Aggression in Dog's conference, Clicker Expo, and many more.

That continued learning allows Spicy Paws to offer thoughtful, current, positive reinforcement training that supports real dogs and real people.

Happy Dogs. Happy Life.

Spicy Paws uses a holistic, compassionate approach rooted in positive reinforcement.

That means we focus on:

  • Enrichment before obedience

  • Management before pressure

  • Understanding before judgment

  • Training that supports emotional wellbeing

  • The owner’s capacity as much as the dog’s progress

Training should help life feel better—not make you feel like you’re failing.

Education That Supports Real Behavior Change

Ashlee has been training professionally for 2 years and is dedicated to continued education, especially in behavior, aggression, enrichment, and humane training.

Her work is grounded in positive reinforcement, with a focus on helping dogs feel safer, clearer, and more capable.

In a region where many options rely on balanced or compulsion-based methods, Spicy Paws offers a different path for owners who want kind, thoughtful support that aligns with their values.

What Working Together Looks Like

Working with Spicy Paws starts with understanding what is really going on.

From there:

  • We look at the why behind your dog’s behavior

  • We create a plan that fits your dog and your household

  • We focus on enrichment, management, and training in that order

  • We adjust as needed so progress stays realistic

The goal is not to make you feel judged or overwhelmed. The goal is to help you feel more capable and help your dog feel more supported.
